YUI tabs slow loading.?

i have YUI tabs from: http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/tabview/ i have 10 tabs up on a page and page loading takes for ever, its showing data from the database is there anyway i can make it faster?

close some tabs a page can only take so many...open up a new page
