If you intend to make an actual physical booklet, you will need a desktop publisher - Serif PagePlus SE is free and you can download additional free templates http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/PagePlus/key_features.asp (note: Serif requires a valid email address - use a non-essential account such as gmail or yahoo as you tend to get a lot of "offers" from Serif!) If you want to create a scrapbook, have a look at Scrapbook Flair http://www.snapfiles.com/get/ScrapbookFlair.html

If you want this to be a proper printed book, I would recommend you check out a company called Blurb. Basically, they'll give you some free software to install which you can design your book with. I've personally used it and it's really easy to use! Then you can order your personalised book to be printed and sent to you through the post. They're a little bit pricey from the looks of it... but you get what you pay for! A real book, but designed by you. What more could you ask for? http://www.blurb.com/
