kunal, first of all learn c++ it will help you a lot means its also in your first year(fcpit) as well as 2nd yr(oops) coarse plan. You will take hardly 2 months to learn it. firstly be an expert in c++ then you can try other languages like .net or java..

u can do thses courses from private intitutes JAVA PHP DOT NET ASP C++ they will help u a lot in b.tech course and in future only Wish u bsest of luck

I am from Vishweshwariya technological university karnataka I am currently studying my Btech in information science and am in my 3rd year ie 5th sem if you too are from VTU u will learn c++ in 4th sem a part of UNIX in 3rd sem DBMS in 5th sem C in 1st /2nd sem ie chem/phy cycles I think we would learn JAVA also in 7th sem I guess so C,C++,basics of UNIX,basics of DBMS,JAVA we shall learn while in college but you are in first sem ..u have plenty of time to worry about that ..my adivse would be that you just concentrate on the subjects at hand per sem ..1st ,2nd,7th and 8th are easy sems so score well atleast above 70 % so that even if ur mark falls in 5th,6th 4th and 3rd sems u will still have an agregate above 65% and if you are a VTU student you will be highly disappointed by the way they value the papers ..so concentrate on percentage in sems ..you can get a job these days as recision is over ..u could do a course from NIIT once u are done with engineering just to brush up on C ,C++ and JAVA and also learn some new languages ! best of luck

As you are a computer science student i suggest you to learn as many languages as possible The languages that are in demand now days and will continue to be for 5-10 years are JAVA PHP DOT NET ASP C++ and you should have also learnt basic languages like C
