How can I find and replace html links with Notepad++?

Complicated .html question...?

  • Okay..this guy wants me to edit a .html for him..he hasn't sent it to me yet, but from hid discription it looks like it's already going to be complicated. He says he wants me to duplicate the template file and change the cities/state names in each file and chat room name. He says all you have to do is open the file in notepad press CTRL and F find <oneword> replace with <newword> save it then move on to the next one. But if you knew me, that sounds really complicated to me..can someone explain it a little easier?

    nah it's not complicated. Get the HTML File from him, right click on it, click edit. It should open it up with notepad, from there click on Edit --> Replace then just enter the word that you are finding in the first box and the word you are replacing it with in the second box.

You're essentially just using the Edit ==> Find & Replace All Option. You can do that in any HTML editor or even notpad. It's pretty simple.

He wants you to replace every instance of one word with another word. You can do this by opening each file and using a search and replace function. But it makes more sense to use a real editor that has a "bulk search and replace" function.
