Is it mandatory to have broadcast receiver as a separate file?

Can I send a Photoshop file via email and have the receiver open it up in layers?

  • Graphic design is a hobby of mine but I am untrained on different file types. I was wondering if I could send a photoshop file that I created to someone and if they wanted to make changes on it, they could. I only have Photoshop and no other programs. Thanks

  • Answer:

Just make a mediafire account and put the file their and send the link to who ever you want. you can even put a password on the file so if someone finds you link they cant download and steal your work. Its free and easy to use. www.mediafire.com

If you have email, yes you can, just a couple of things first. Make sure that the person that you are sending the file to is at the same or higher version of Photoshop as yourself. Older versions will not read the newer version files. Second, zip the file, if you not have a zip utility, download 7Zip, it is free, just Google for it. If the file is to big for email, you will have to sign up for a service that allows you yo share large files, Dropbox is great and free. Photoshop files tend to be too large for email. You might want to loop up Dropbox as a free alternative for large file upload. Sending the .psd file will allow the enduser to modify it.

Depends on the size of the file, most emails have a 10mb limit on file transfers, some psd files are smaller than that, most are larger than that. Dropbox works great, but also I have used YouSendIt.com with a lot of success, it does not require the person receiving the file to have an account.

The receiver will be able to open, and edit, the file only if they have Photoshop or a compatible software.
