How can i make an image glow?

Can I make a website out of an image?

  • I'm really bad with any kind of website creating software (like dreamweaver). Is there any way I could make a site out of an image I made? Like if I used MSpaint (just for example) and used the Square tool to make borders and columns, is there another program I could use that could make links out of portions out of the image I selected? Most of the 'image' would be the website, but there would be links to other pages as well. I don't want the whole image to link though, just certain parts (like a link that says "Email Me"). Hope you can understand what the hell I'm talking about. This stuff really isn't for me :p - But alas, I need to make a website.

  • Answer:

Yes, and the three tools that I use are: Photoshop(for making the image), Imageready(Comes with photoshop last time I checked lol), and Dreamweaver. There are some other tools that you can use but i recommend that you get the CS3 collection as it's a designers best friend.

In fact, Dreamweaver in not that bad. Even in Dreamweaver you can do the same by inserting a table & then inserting your JPG image in it (jpg format because it is less memory intensive). You need hotspots (link areas in your image as well). Hotspots are available on property bar in Dreamweaver. You can draw Rectangle, polygonal or circular hotspots as per your need. or you can also make use of Photoshop (is easier to understand) - 1. open image 2. slice your image 3. save for web (ctrl+alt+shift+S)

You can, in the sense that it is technically possible, but you can't, in the sense that doing so will be an absolute disaster. For one thing, people need to be able to adjust the text size based on their vision. For another thing, people have monitors of different widths, and your web page needs to adjust. Using an image for a web site would be as inappropriate as writing out a newspaper by hand. The end result just wouldn't work the way people expect a newspaper to work and people wouldn't be able to use it the way they expect to be able to use a newspaper.

Simply put: No. An image does not become a website without code. Now there are programs that let you make websites in a "What you see is what you get" way, but they might be more than you're willing to learn. (Dreamweaver is one of them) Easiest solution would be to find a free template or free website creator.
