  • Answer:

Yes, you can install Windows 7 without losing *User* data. The system data, however, is lost...and the user data may be a problem. Standalone documents are generally no problem. The problems tend to come when you reinstall applications. Reconnecting to saved email, a music library (iTunes, etc.), browser settings and links, all take some work. You will need space on the HD for Win7 in addition to whatever is already on the drive, as the old OS is not deleted...just renamed. Win7 won't create a dual boot on the same HD as far as I can tell, so unless you can create a new partition, the old OS will no longer be bootable. By "2 USERS", I think you mean a dual boot, or dual partitions. Maybe? There's no particular speed issue with having multiple bootable partitions on your HD. Organization may be a problem, since the "Documents and Settings" (XP) and "Users" (7) folders aren't shared. Neither, of course, are the "Program Files" folders. So, you have to make specific shared folders for things that you want to access from both OSes. So, drive space and organization are the main issues with dual booting. There may be a small performance penalty by spreading files farther apart, but that's more a consequence of filling up a drive than of a dual boot.

you can, its called an WIN7 upgrade option, when you insert the WIN7 DVD while logged on then the option will pop up, you just have to follow the steps, Remember to select UPGRADE, and it will ask, you if you want to keep your old files, it will also ask the directory to store the old operating system. Just READ carefully! 2 users wont effect speed, just space.

No,its not possible, don't you think,if you install it will have to take some data because it must be loaded and can't be loaded without having data

Yes,you could. Before installing Windows 7,you could backup all the important data from your xp sp2. And then you will not lose any data during Win 7. BTW,there is a recover tool named wondershare data recovery,it could help you recover the lost data quickly. There is giveaway on their facebook(http://on.fb.me/wpDGOt) You could join the activity to get the program freely.

You have two options : 1- Store your data inside a portable hard-disk and take them back to the pc after it has been formated. 2- If you mean that data of pictures and videos.. Then within WINDOWS 7 installation they would be transferred automatically to your new documents folder.
