How to develop native android app?

What android app should i develop for a student, ASAP?

• ..I need to develop an android app that is not existing or a modified concept of an app that will have an impact to its users. Our topic is applying the database functionality in an android application. My teacher told us an example, since flash light is very helpful to people, but android phones has no built in flashlights, then we have to develop an application that serves as a flashlight, by making the android phones screen emit bright or white colors. It doesn't only limited to databases but should use it in the apps. By the way 1 week is the deadline for this app, so i need an app that i can develop for a beginner like me and a student as well. I am open to all suggestions and possibilities that can be made for 1 week duration. It should not be common to android market or an existing one. if you have there then please don't hesitate to share it with me. Your answer will be a great help to me. Thanks
