Why won't my videos Import onto Windows Movie Maker?

I can't import videos to Windows Movie Maker 2.1?

  • I press "Import Into Collections" and when I look for my videos, it doesn't show. But when I look for the video without Windows Movie Maker, I can see it. I can import pictures and audio, but just not videos. Can somebody please help me? I need to edit the video soon!

    There could be two problems. 1. When you click import go down to where it says " Files of type: " and make sure you set it to " All Media Files ". Then you should be able to see everything. 2. You could be trying to import a file type that is incompatible with Windows Movie Maker. From experience I know that Windows Movie Maker doesn't support MP-4 files. Sorry if this didn't help. Hmmmm. Maybe it's incompatible with WMM, it does tend to be a bit fussy. There are some free programs out there for converting - suggest you try to convert to WMV, which, of course, is Bill Gates favourite (only?) format. Also you could try drag-and-drop. If that doesn't work then WMM doesn't recognise it. Failing that, Google 'WMM tutorial' which should prove a darned more useful than I can be !!

Windows movie maker supports wmv video, you have to convert your video to the right format at first.
