Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error?

Word file "path does not exist" error. Please help, I can't access my research paper and its due tomorrow?

  • this is so fuking annoying! I have this loaner computer from computopia that I'm using till mine gets fixed and i can't download anything or change many of the settings because you need an administrator password. So a pop up comes on the screen and says that it needs to do an automatic update that I cant postpone. I save all my word files and do the update then all my files get deleted!!! I found the files I need under recently changed documents but when I try to open it it says path does not not exist. It may have been moved to a different location. Please if anyone knows what I'm talking about and can explain to me how to fix it in a language that I can understand I would be extremely grateful. ill give u best answer if u care at all about that.

  • Answer:

Always save a copy - don't change actual COPY If you don't have a copy, then the files are probably gone forever. If you have a copy, change the extension to .txt or what ever the computer uses - which might work. If you save as .txt, and you want to use formatting that .txt doesn't have go to google and sign up. When you're logged on, type Google Documents in the search bar of google, and The Document viewer with some simple formatting should be there. https://docs.google.com/demo/edit?id=scADExRbHYgmzQc4xrhlxsJIn&dt=document#document I think yahoo has one too, but not sure about that. You can try sending your copy to yourself at google, click on paperclip. It will open the message and show a document, then click view. I'm trying to see if you can import a document into the site I gave ^^^, but haven't found out how yet. ok after you sign up and everything go to https://docs.google.com/#owned-by-me and click the upload button next to create. I'm not sure what you're using, but I hope it helps. These are the file types that can be converted to Google Docs: For spreadsheets: .xls, .xlsx, .ods, .csv, .tsv, .txt, .tab For documents: .doc, .docx, .html, plain text (.txt), .rtf For presentations: .ppt, .pps, .pptx For drawings: .wmf For OCR: .jpg, .gif, .png, .pdf
