Htc aria battery problems? ?

  • I've been having problems with my htc aria. It's only about 2 months old. Every day I keep it on from 6 in the morning and by 8 or 10 in the afternoon it needs to be charged. Can anyone help me get it last longer? Recalibration how to? Btw it charges fully in like 2 hours. Could it be a battery problems or does it just last that little with apps on? please help!

  • Answer:

The Aria, like most other smartphones, uses a lot of battery power for operations, using apps, connecting to the network, etc. You can reduce battery usage with a few simple steps. 1. If you're not using a certain feature (especially GPS, Wi-fi or Bluetooth), turn them off. There are free apps and widgets available on the Market that you can use to toggle these items on and off. 2. Here's a neat trick that works for me. I work in a high security environment where i cannot have my Nexus One. In fact, the building prevents me from even getting any signal, and my phone is locked away all day. Before I lock it up, I put it in airplane mode. This keeps the phone from searching for a signal and draining the battery. I'm amazed at how much this has saved me. 3. Turn the brightness down on the screen, especially indoors. You ca set the brightness very low on Android phones indoors and still get a great image. Outdoors is different, but all displays have that issue of being seen in bright sunlight. Now, for the battery: short recharges on lithium-ion batteries are ok. However, to recalibrate the battery, every so often you should let it drain all the way down (until the phone powers itself off), then immediately put the phone on a charger (don't power it up after it shuts off until you have the charger connected, or you might permanently kill the battery). Let it charge up and leave it on the charger for an extra hour or so. This calibrates the battery's capacity and helps you get more life from it. Consider getting an extra battery. I have three of them. ;-)
