IPod touch/ iPhone app not launching and it has valuable information on it, how to get it to open?

I have an app called "MobileStudio" which is a file transfer between the computer and my first generation iPod touch. I use it to input important work information and then I come home, open up the app, and use that information to fill out my reports. I updated the MobileStudio app recently and now it will not open! It crashes every time I try to open it. I rebooted my iPod and also restored it from iTunes and it is still not working. I can not update my iPod to the 4.0 software update either because it does not support the first generation. There are text files inside my MobileStudio app on my iPod that I really need but I can not get to them because I can not open the app any longer! Please help!!

hmmm ive never heard of this happening.. but sadly it sounds like the app is "corrupt" which means you will probably have to delete it from the ipod & reinstall it or for some strange reason it may have been updated & is no longer compatible with the ipod but ive never heard of that happening :( srry i couldnt be more help
