Blackberry Curve 8520 HELP?

Okay, so I bought a Blackberry Curve 8520(AT&T) from my friend. He said that the screen is completely white when you turn it on. I went on Ebay and bought a 005/004 screen display, but the screen is STILL white. Should I just try the 007/111 screen display or just get my money back? ALSO: The phone works fine, it's just the screen, I know because I connected it to my computer and it tells me to confirm the numbers I entered from my Blackberry. I entered "1234" on my phone, and entered it on my computer, and it was confirmed.
