My PSP won't sync with my windows media player?

I am trying to put music on my PSP and windows media player doesn't detect it. So how can I make it to where I can put music on it without having to do it through windows itself you know by finding that music file on the computer and copy and pasting it in the MUSIC folder under PSP folder on my PSP. I need help!
