How to log out of a Google account on Android?

Samsung Galaxy and google account trouble!! help please?

• Okay so when my dad got his samsung galaxy s i was really exited and wanted 2 look at the apps so I went 2 the Android market and it said I needed a google account to log in, my dad didnt have a gmail account at the time so them I just logged in to see the apps. Now, he made an account but my account is still on the phone for example when he opens the calendar it has my events from my account on it. I tried to delete my account from the phone but it said I would have to do factory reset :/ Does that remove information like contacts from your sim card? because me and my dad sent quite a long time putting all his contacts on this phone (because some weren't on the sim card but on the phone) and I don't think he would be too pleased with me :( What would happen if I deleted my gmail account from my laptop? Please help me :(

  i have a htc hero so maybe differences, but by going to setting>accounts & syn you should be able to log out of your account and put in your dads. as far as i am aware this shouldnt affect the sim or sd cards. also, when you saved a;l your numbers did you save them to the sim/phone or google? by saving them to google they are always backed up and automatically sync'd when a users account is signed into.
