A couple quick questions about the BlackBerry Curve 8530! :)?

I am going to go buy the BlackBerry Curve 8530 from KOODO and i wanted to know if i can change the themes on the background and if i can change the colour of the little red light that flashes when you get texts ect. I know you can with the bold, so how about with the curve? And also, any general opinion about the phone? Example: does it suck? lol thanks! :)
