PSP Homebrew Firmware Update?

OK, so I have made my decision, I want to down or upgrade my psp (im not to sure) from 5.02 (Official Sony) to something that will let me run homebrew, can I have some ideas please?

you need to purchase a pandoras battery. then you will need to install despertar cementario onto a mem stick. it will probably only take 10 minutes. i would suggest getting the battery from datel, they work excellent. also, if you have a psp 3000 (check the sticker on the bottom) or the newest motherboard for the slim, it is not yet hackable. they have been making excellent progress on it however, so i would suggest not upgrading until its hackable, and checking sites like dcemu's psp section for updates.
