My mp4 has a blank white screen?

I bought a new mp4. I connected it to my pc with usb and I installed the software to pc. The pc detects my mp4. I choosed to update firmware. I followed the steps clicking next buttons. Then the screen to my mp4 became white and nothing was working. My pc still detects the mp4 as a usb storage medium and opens the files inside the mp4. What should I do ? My mp4 has not a brand written on it and I don't know how to put the correct firmware it remains with white screen always.
