How do I download either Blackberry OS 4.3 or 4.5 to my Blackberry Pearl? I have downloaded the new desktop ma?

I have downloaded the new desktop manager and the new device manager to my phone, but whenever I click to update the device, it says that my phone is completely up to date. But then when I check the status of the phone, it says that it is on version 4.2 still! I have the Blackberry Pearl 8100 and when I check the Blackberry website it says that this phone is compatible with the new versions! Help!

Download, and install, the new OS for the pearl from your service provider. Once you have it installed, open up desktop manager. It should start the update automatically. If it doesn't, then go to application loader, update software, start. Warning: I've tried to update several pearls to the new OS. It has turned them into bricks. If it doesn't work the first time you may have a corrupted download. Un install the OS and download it again. Sometimes it not the download or the new OS, sometimes it's the device. If your service provider has the old OS available, then downloaded it. That way if something happens you will have the old OS to install on to the device.
