Blackberry Curve 8310 help?

Okay..I just downloaded AIM for my blackberry. I visited this site: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=BlackBerryDeviceSoftware&thread.id=2888&view=by_date_ascending&page=2 && it told me to go to the host routing table under options>advanced options. && nothing is happening it still doesn't work. what do I need to do after i register under host routing table?
