How do i get my blackberry to work?

ok so i dropped my iphone in the toilet but luckily my friend had an old blackberry so i simply put my simcard from my iphone in it..it works great with calling and texting and stuff but i can't figure out why my bbm doesnt work and also i cantdownload any apps from app world...but i can go on the mobile web...does his have something to do that am i still on the iphone plan? will it cost money to switch? HELP i want my phone to work properly
