Blackberry Pearl texting question?

I was thinking of upgrading to a blackberry pearl and I already have texting on my phone so will I have to purchase another blackberry texting package just to send regular text messages? I don't want to send MMS messages just plain SMS messages.

no you won't have to. you'll just be able to call and text. if you want to email, use the web, send MMS, and AIM then you have to purchase a BB data plan. (i have tmobile and its over $30 a month)
