Blackberry Pearl 8100 desktop software?

i got a blackberry pearl for my birthday but the one i got did not come with any software or nothing just the USB connection and a little book. i want to be able to put stuff on it but i cant because i dont have the desktop software that you need. is there anywere i can go to and download it? i have tryed going on blackberry.com and there are some softwares there but there are so many i dont know which one to download.
