Which is better, a pda, or a 3g, phone?

I would just like to know which is better from the 2 listed. In addition, if there is another type of phone that eclipse the 2 which I request above, please state that type as well. Overall, I would just like to know which is better, and why. Thank you for your time. I look forward to feedback on this subject.

iPhone. It takes the three major devices most people carry - phone, MP3 player, and PDA - and turns it into one device. The downside to having one device is battery life. If I am at school and my MP3 player battery dies, its not a problem. If my cell phone battery dies, thats a bigger issue.
