Why is my palm pre offline?

Should u root your palm pre as soon as u get. and will rooting your palm pre in any way mess it up?

• ok so i have the sprint palm pre and i wanted to know if i should root it before i actualyy save stuff in it. would the save data like my contacts erase if i rooted it later. also would it hurt my palm pre if i root it. like would it freeze up at random times or, all at once have a break down or somethin??? and also y would u want to root it. yes i know it changes the logo but is that it. or is their more. and lastly how do u root it. i found lots of way on youtube but i wanted to see if u got one. Srry guys 4 asking u 2 help me but im getting my palm pre on monday october 11 which is 2moro. so please if u know the answer 2 all of da answer please ANSWER.
