Is charging supported with this accessory?

Charging is not supported with this accessory? for iphone.?

I got a iphone 3gs 5.0.1 and when i charge it, it says "charging is not supported with this accessory". And in the bottom right hand corner of my computer it was "USB device no recognized". Im using an official apple cord too. Any possible way i can fix this?

Try a new USB port, the ones on the back work best on a desktop. Also, check iTunes for updates and disable any AntiVirus. Restarting the computer might also help. Also, check apple.com under support, they have thousands of articles and discussion boards that are very useful. *It's probably your antivirus then. Disable or uninstall. Or try on a new computer.
