What Is An Ebook?

What would you recommend as a cheap ebook/pdf/text reader?

• Hey everyone, I'm after a PDF/eBook reader. Basically I've decided that each week I'm going to give my girlfriend a surprise - I want the first week to be something that really means a lot. From time to time I send her messages telling her how special she is, etc and she saves these on her computer. I want to buy her some sort of eBook/text reader, where each time I send her one of these messages, she can save them in a new text or pdf file and then put then on her ebook/text reader. I don't mind it if has other features, however I want it's main use to be what I described above, something simple, easy to use and not too expensive. I have contemplated the Amazon Kindle 3, but I'm unsure whether you can do this? Do books need to be bought through their online shop or you can load your own files? Also, it seems a little pricey. What other devices do you recommend? Thanks a lot! :)

  Sony PRS-505/LC Blue Digital Book Reader is easy to use and holds a lot of ebooks. You can use memory cards and really hold an unlimited number of ebooks in several cards. It has good control features that make using the unit easy. The main drawback in the limiter numer of formats that can be used. You can use a coumple of formats, but there are several others that you can not. This limits where you can get ebooks.
