Which is better, Blackberry Curve or Sidekick 2008?

What features are lost through an unlocked Blackberry and Sidekick?

  • Okay...so my brother and I are looking to purchase new cell phones - he, a Blackberry Curve 8320, and me, a Sidekick 2008. After tons of research, we've discovered that unlocked phones lose features when they become unlocked. First of all, can someone confirm if this is true? We're both members of T-Mobile, so it doesn't make sense for us to have to buy an unlocked phone for use on the T-Mobile service if we already have it. Secondly, if this IS true, can someone tell me what features are lost ON BOTH PHONES? Not just one or the other... I've heard such features as picture messaging are lost, and neither of us can afford that loss, so if this is true, please let us know. Thanks! Caroline

  • Answer:

If you are on Tmobile, get Tmobile phones. An unlocked AT&T phone will only work over Edge data, not 3G, and you will lose the rest of the multimedia features as well. An unlocked phone will work for the telephone portion of the network, but not much else.

Hi.I am not sure about a blackberry, but on a sidekick ONLY calling features and texting features would work. That is if you use it on another GSM network like AT&T.
