I downloaded a free app using wifi on my blackberry.. Will my carrier charge me?
-
Unlocked phone. Tmobile. No data plan. Downloaded crunchsms and bebuzz for free using my wifi hotspot on my blackberry browser

Answer:
I do it all the time. The key here, and it's a pain, is that many of the WiFi services only work for about 3 hours after a battery pull. Turn WiFi on, ensure you have a good connection, then ensure when it boots back up UMA is in capital letters. It should work. Another option is to have them turn on data for 1 day. Download and install all the good apps your interested in, remember, not all will work on pure wifi. Call them back and as them to put "web block" back on your plan, so you don't get charged accidentally. Keep tabs on your usage at mytomile.com. Good luck.
