Use of internet on the iPhone?

When I plug my iphone into my computer, does it use the computer's internet connection?

• I'm not in a 3g area and don't have wifi at work so my iphone internet is s-l-o-w, however my computer is connected to the local ethernet network which is fast fast fast. If I plug the iphone into the computer is there any way to get it to use the computer's internet connection? OK, probably not, but WHY NOT? Data goes down the iphone cable does it not?

  No it is not possible, Yes, its true that the data that is shared between your computer and your Iphone comes from the internet, But It is first downloaded into a temporary folder on your computer (stuff like settings you have changed, songs you have downloaded, updates etc) and is then transferred to your IPhone when the cable is connected, not directly from the internet. sorry!
