Need your advice on buying a good phone not an ordinary phone..something like palm pre?

I'm thinking of buying a phone and i dont want it to be like other phones..i want it to be different and fun to use with.I had a motorola motoming A1200 and it ran linux so it was fun to use with.Now its old and i want another one.I have 4 phones under consideration 1.Palm Pre 2.HTC G1 3.HTC Magic 4.Motorola A3100 I like Palm pre the most among it but i also need your views.I'm in India and now palm pre sell with sprint only.If i manage to get it is there a way i can out my Airtel or Idea sim in it.Can you also suggest a way to unlock it. Please reply..thank u

I herd the palm pre was nice...but I got a G1 and I love it...since its andriod its completely open...thier are so many apps out thier you can dl that change how the phone runs and what the home screens do and everything......I love customizing it and the actually qwerty keyboard and i hate on screen keyboards.

Ya ok for these phones but you should not limit to PDAs can have considerations about other phones as well like htc touch diamond2 and as you said that now you are in India so think about Nokia N97 this one is really cool have a look ovr it.......
