Why doesn't iTunes recognize my iPhone?

Itunes wont recognize my iphone!!?

Last night i plugged my phone in to do an update and an error occurred during the update. Then I unplugged my phone and now when I try and turn it on I get it saying to connect it to itunes. There is a picture of the white ipod cord and an arrow going up and above that it says itunes. I tried plugging it into my computer but nothing, its not doing anything. It wont even recognize my phone! I tried uninstalling itunes but that didn't work. I went to my computer and devices to see what was plugged into my computer but it didnt even say my phone was! Please help me with this. Its driving my crazy! Im about to go get a new phone if I cant fix this one. I dont know whats wrong with it.

Try putting it in dfu mode while plugged in your computer and it should pop in itunes telling you that you need to restore. Follow instructions (http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034)
