How does the Wi-Fi on the iPod touch work?

Hi,I have a ipod touch 1st gen and the wifi doesn't work at all.Would anybody have an idea on how to fix it?

• On the settings it says 'no wifi'.I bought this ipod knowing that the wifi doesn't work.We don't have wifi at our house anyways so doesn't really matter,but it would be cool if i could get the wifi working. Thank you

  Hi there! I think this answer may help you!!! You may have heard this method 1000's of times, but there is only one word I can use to describe to try and get the WiFi to work: RESTORE. Since you don't have WiFi, you may be wondering how to restore. But read this first, and then you'll understand: Restoring your iDevice means that it will restore the iPod Touch 1G to it's original factory settings, meaning it will be like you've just bought it. (Apart from scratches, if any! LOL.) Restoring also fixes anything that is malfunctioning or wrong in the device. It is always good to restore if things aren't working well - in your case, WiFi. If you don't have WiFi, you must still be plugged into your broadband by ethernet? If yes, then go to 'iTunes', and Backup, and then Restore. If you don't have WiFi, or an internet connection at all, then go to your friend's house or public library and use a PC/Mac to restore. I hope this helped! Tell me what happens! :D
