Sync Memo's and things from a Palm TX to a Palm Treo Pro?

• I have always carried a cell, PDA and MP3 play. I have my Cell and MP3 together in one device now but I have too much information in my Palm Memos, Tasks and the media albums. I was just looking up on the new Palm Treo Pro and it looks hopeful. So my question is are the software compatible? Is there a memo's application or Tasks application on the Palm Treo Pro? and can I sync them? TIA :-)

  Unfortunately, they are not 'compatible' with each other. They both use 2 different OSes. The TX uses Palm OS and the Treo Pro uses Windows Mobile. You will need to have software that can allow the 'translation' between the two devices. There is one called 'Pocket Copy' that copies your Palm Desktop into Outlook. You will also need to consider that any software you bought on the Palm OS will not work with Windows Mobile. Some Palm OS software makers make a Windows Mobile version of their software, but some do not. For those that do, you will probably have to contact the developer to see if they will allow a free cross-grade. The worst case is the developer will give you a 'heavy' discount for the cross-grade software. For software not made for Windows Mobile, you will need to search for an alternative (eg. DateBk5 has no Windows Mobile version. A comparable program for me was Pocket Informant). There is a program for Windows Mobile called 'StyleTap' that allows you to run Palm applications. However, you will not be able to sync Palm data. It's pretty costly as well (~$50 US).
