There can be many ways to Unlock your phone. As far as i know unlocking by codes is the simple and safe way. There's web sites that can unlock your phone with a code, but I'm guessing you wanna do it free.... well if you have one of the major cell companies and I'm guessing you do.. you can just call them and they can unlock you phone... I've done it with my blackberry storm when I went over seas... I just told them I'm getting deployed and I would need my phone unlocked to use the locals sim cards in case I don't get cell service...

First you need to make sure that your Blackberry is not already unlocked because if it is it won't show you the screen where you should enter your unlock code. Go into "Advanced settings" and then select "SIM card" and type MEPD.
