How do I make my battery last longer?

  • I have an HTC EVO 4G. And simply, my the battery sucks. I wake up to it 100% on the charger. Get ready for work. And I take it off the charger right before I leave. In the time it takes me to get my keys and shut off the lights, by the time I leave ( 2 minutes after taking it off the charger) The battery hits 82%. And by the time I get to work (10 minutes) The battery is at 45%. I have literally used EVERY BATTERY SAVER on the the android market and every task manager. I dont have that many apps, but I make sure to close them in the background and regardless...my battery has a life span of exactly 24 minutes ( I timed it), and thats when Im doing nothing! Ive tried dimming the backlight, deleting some apps,taking it off vibrate, and even factory resetting the phone.....NOTHING. Not even a bit of hope in this phone. My friend has the same phone and his battery lasts 45 minutes. How do I make my battery Last longer? because theres no since in having a phone if my battery dies in 5 minutes on a phone call. Someone PLEASE HELP!!! P.S. I am using the battery provided with the phone from the sprint store..

if it goes from 100 to 82 in 2 minues... or 82 to 45 in 10 mins, then thats a clear sign of a defective LI-ION battery... get the battery replaced! with constant use.. 100% to 80% should take 30 mins... 80 to 40... again, constant use, 2-3 hours! 100 to 40... normal use... 6-8 hours!

Wow, that is so much worse than MY phone battery!! What you need to do, is buy a new battery, try one with a higher capacity. The one that came with your phone is probably a dud.
