How do AT&T phone upgrades work?
-
I ruined my iPhone4 (Long story...) Anyways, I have had it for about 18 months and am eligible for an upgrade. However I don't want to because I wanna get the iPhone 5 when it comes out later this year. How exactly do their upgrades work? Can I buy a phone at full price just to use until the 5 comes out and upgrade? TIA for the answers...

Answer:
Yes, you must buy it full price, no contract. Your upgrade should not be touched. I would just confirm before you order just incase. iPhone 5 release summer or fall... cant wait! Good Luck J-tech

I'm a manager for AT&T Mobility - Since you're eligible for an upgrade now, but you don't want to use it until a newer phone is released - You would yes, have to buy a phone outright (though that's stupid). OR, you may visit your nearest AT&T Corporate store and purchase a go phone to use with your SIM card.
