What Are New Boost Mobile Phones?

What phones can you use on boost mobile?

  Boost, unfortunately , uses a technology called IDEN . Only Motorola and Blackberry makes phones for IDEN. No Samsung, LG, HTC, or anything else. They use a sim called iden which allows the walkie talkie function. Regular sim card phones without it are called GSM technology. The sims look alike and even fit each others phones but are incompatible , even in unlocked phones. Att and Tmobile use GSM sims. Most of the world is on GSM. You can use any current Boost phone, any used Boost phone , most Nextel phones (Sprint owns Nextel which owns Boost). Nextel phones have a much wider selection, but they are more aimed at industrial/business setups so aren't usually all that sexy and cool . There are some good ones though like the i836, a sleek but cheap flip phone, the i920/i930 is a Windows mobile smartphone, but can only take incoming texts. There are at least 4 Blackberries that can run on Boost with differing degrees of compatiblity. Blackberry 7510/7520/7100i/8530i Curve. (Called Boostberries when you put a Boost sim in, Google that term ) These are all originally Nextel iden Blackberries, btw. The Curve is the coolest one of the iden Blackberries and is actually cheaper then the overpriced i9 (c'mon $300 for a Razr with a walkie talkie? Geez. For that much, I'd want an iphone with a walkie talkie) Blackberries work with Boost sims with the phone and the walkie talkie guaranteed to work. To get the internet, im/texting you have to load third party apps like Opera Mini browser, Aim/Yahoo Messenger, etc.. Older Nextel Blackberries are dirt cheap. Sometimes cheaper then the new basic phones from Boost. And they can use both Boost and Nextel sims. If you want to sell it you have two groups of people who would buy it. A Boost phone can only be used with Boost sims. Nextel sims won't work unless you have it unlocked, which costs more money. So yeah, there are other phones out there, just not as much choice as say for a Verizon, Att or Tmobile user. Virgin Mobile has a limited selection too, though cooler and more colorful.
