Why can't I hear any sound on videos that my friends send me through my email on my iPhone?

• I really need help on this guys i've been trying to figure out why i can't hear anything on my videos. I use gmail for my email and i have an iPhone. Every time my friends send me a video through email i receive it and i'm able to watch it and everything except hearing the sounds for some reason i can't hear anything at all I've tried switching emial accounts but i don't think that's problem. can anyone tell me what to do or if it's like this on every iPhone.. thanks in advance(:
