T Mobile Value plans...?
-
I am thinking about getting on T-Mobile's Unlimited Value-Plus plan for the family. For $49.99 I get two lines with unlimted talk/text/data. 2GB of the data will be highspeed, correct? Now the main two lines as well one add a line will have the unlimited talk/text/data (up to 2GB high speed). That makes 3 lines with more or less the same thing. The add a line will cost $25/month. So far I BELIEVE I have this: Unlimited Value – Plus (Core -$49.99) Unlimited Value – Plus (Core -$49.99) Unlimited Value – Plus (Add Line -$25.00) Now the website says you can have up to 3 add a lines, so I am going to add my parents in. On the right hand of the website it says you can add a line for $5.00/mo. that simply get 500 minutes a month. This would be perfect for my parents but it seems too good to be true (as does this whole plan). So now the finished plan for the whole family looks like this: Unlimited Value – Plus (Core -$49.99) Unlimited Value – Plus (Core -$49.99) Unlimited Value – Plus (Add Line -$25.00) 500 Value - (Add a line -$5.00) 500 Value - (Add a line -$5.00) This bring the pre-tax total to $135.00. If I am correct on this or wrong anywhere please let me know. I understand T-Mobile has awful customer service that is why I want to get it right the first time. I know there is one major thing I did not calculate: phone price. However since my parents will basically be getting the cheapest phones out there, it wouldnt be worth it to get on a plan that included paying for the phone. Anyway on my part, my parents are helping me out in that we are splitting the cost of the total bill evenly. So after taxes we will pay about $30/month per person. Add in a $400 phone (which I will have to pay for), this adds about $17 per month if I divided it up over 24 months. So on my part I would still have unlimited calling/text/data/high speed data up to 2GB for around $50.00/month. My parents would be paying about the same price they are now for slightly more minutes (up from 300). If there is anything I am forgetting to calculate please let me know. If you have any suggestions for us or if you think this is the best plan for us.... http://explore.t-mobile.com/value-plans?cm_sp=tmo_lp-_-49.99-_-learnvptile

Answer:
That's pretty deep! I don't know where you heard TMO has awful customer service, I've had them for years and although I almost never have to deal with them they always do everything they can to help. Especially in the stores. You can't beat there prices for the service and good phone availability. Plus they don't charge for data overages or tethering smartphones as modems like the other 3 do, which was a huge selling point for me.

This sounds right. I did the same exact thing yesterday with the exception of adding the parents. Our bill will be 124 before tax and 150 after
