What is the best prepaid phone to buy for a 11 yr old?

    Well, I know T-Mobile's prepaid phones and I think the Nokia 1661 would work well. It's the cheapest phone they sell, but Nokia makes nice simple straight forward cheap yet fairly durable phones. It's a brick phone so there's no flip screen to break. You could get it with the T-Mobile to go plan and then you will only pay for the minutes he uses and once he runs out....tough luck. You also have the option to call up T-Mobile prepaid and have them disable texting and voicemail on his phone if you don't want him to have access to that. Plus, it's on a decent network (you can go to www.t-mobile.com and check the coverage map for your area) Wal-Mart's got the kit for $19.88

contract phone is actually less money in the long run, as you get the phone for free. and with a kid, the insurance may be the thing to get as well as it will get lost or damaged. if you have service, do a family plan and it will be under $10 a month and they will give you a free phone. this way if you talk during the day you are in network and no air time used to keep tabs on your child.

Any Cell phone Company has prepaid on it. Just go to your local store such as cvs, Walgreen's and get a phone for $10. Then you get the cards and add it to your prepaid phone once the minutes run out then you can add more to it just don't call them to add your credit/debit card because what ever minutes go under they will take it out themselves.
