What does syncing do to your iPhone?

Help with syncing correct itunes songs in a playlist songs onto iphone?

• Hi, so I am syncing my mac laptop with my 1st generation iPhone. I am syncing a playlist called Recently Added (I deleted the original Recently Added playlist and made another by smart playlist), onto my iPhone. The songs in the playlist on my Mac (which is the correct one), do not match the songs on the one on my iPhone. I already tried re-syncing, changing the amount of songs in the playlist.

  Actually, I found out a small way to fix it. I got it to put the right songs onto the playlist, but the order on the iphone is incorrect according to the playlist, nothing big. What I did was, change the settings of the smart playlist, by restricting it. It asks for some thing like this: Click on playlist, go to edit playlist (double-click), then on match all the following, do, date added, is in the last, (x), days or months or years etc.
