Can i use my old at&t sim card in an iphone 3g?

I want to basically unlock an iphone using the sim card from my sony ericsson phone. if i just put the card in there and it's recognized by AT&T will it work?

Yeah it should work. My mom did the same thing, she just used her old sim card in her new iPhone 3G.

If you take it to AT&T you should be able to use it.
No it will not work. If you put the non-at&t card in it will ask you for a passcode or some other unlock code. Only way is for at&t to tell you or do a jailbreak of the iphone, but that may cause your iphone not to work anymore.
