Is it safe to buy a phone off of ebay??

If I buy an AT & T phone unlocked from ebay and put a tmobile sim card in it, will it be ok?

• I'm pretty sure it'll work, I just don't know if it's the right thing to do. If i cancel my tmobile service, it'll be 200. Then i'd have to buy the phone from at&t, get charged an activation fee, and buy warranty. But the phone on ebay is 300. So overall, the ebay one is less. But I'm pretty sure it doesn't come with warranty. So idk if I should buy the ebay one or go through the mess of everything else just to get warranty or insurance on the phone.

  To answer your question quickly, unlocked sim card phones will work for At&t or t mobile. However, when you use an unlocked at&t phone for team mobile, there might be certain feature limitations. I remember buying something of the like and could not access all the features of the phone. But overall, it works fine for me. When your buying on ebay, make sure to buy from someone who has really good/strong reviews especially for cell phones and make sure that they have some sort of return policy. I know some ebay sellers actually offer some sort of warranty on their phones as well. For some extra insurance, you might want to google the seller and see if they have some type of contact number. Call them and ask some questions to give yourself a better feel for the company. I've done this a few time to ensure they actually sell the phone or if they even know anything about the phone just to test them.
