My Nokia 3500 Phone Wont Send Text Messages?

I just got a Nokia 3500 phone about 3 or 4 days ag. (Heres what it looks like: http://www.biliom.com/cep-telefonu/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/nokia-3500-classic-phone.jpg) and now it wont send text messages! Whenever I finish sending a text it says that it failed to send, so I click: ''Retry'' and it doesnt say it fails to send, but then they still dont get the text!!! URRRGGGGG

Answer:
I had problems with a Nokia in the past. Try adding a 1 before the number you are sending to.
