Which is the better phone: Blackberry Pearl or iPhone?

It sounds like you haven't seen the new SONY ERICSSON SATIO I just got mine last Wednesday and it's really incredible. Probably the best phone of all time. It has everything.. mp3 player, video player, 3.5" touch screen (amazing picture), media buttons on the side. It comes with an 8GB memory card. Quite high quality speakers (very good for a phone), comes with headphones and stylus too. Video calling camera on the front. Satellite Navigation, GPS, Wi-Fi, Mobile internet, BBC iPlayer, PlayNow Arena. Oh and I almost forgot its MAIN FEATURE! The incredible, best cameraphone of all time. It boasts a 12.1 megapixel camera in 4:3 ratio. And offers 16:9 ratio and many others. Amazing video quality too. Many, many different camera options. Probably better than most high-end cameras that are out today. I'd highly recommend the Satio, I'd give it a 9/10. And just so I'm not being biast, here's the bad points (all phones have them) No 3.5mm jack (but comes with headphones, and jack can be converted to fit all other headphones) Can be slow sometimes (like most high-end phones) Google Maps is really, really, really slow on this phone Battery life sucks if you use it often Fingerprint magnet But that's about it. Highly recommended phone, far better than iPhone and Blackberry

Blackberry Pearl definitely, have you heard about the iPhone's so-called 'coma' it might go into? If it goes into a coma, it will die and never 'wake up' again. My advice: Don't get it.

For an 11 year old? They both sound like too much. I think you should start with something simple. What service do you have? AT&T? For AT&T I'd go with (for an 11 year old) the Samsung Propel (I heard it's a great phone!), or the Pantech Matrix (I've had experience with this phone and I loved it!). But out of the 2 you want...I'd go with the Blackberry Pearl. The IPhone breaks WAY to easily. Like, the phone just shuts down. And then there's no use for it. Like, you couldn't use it to play (me and my sister used to use my moms old cell phones to play) or anything. It would be useless. So go with the Propel, Matrix, or Blackberry Pearl.
