Why wont my bluetooth headset work?

• I have an LG shine from AT&T. I went to the at&t store today and the guy suggested that i buy the Jabra BT4010 bluetooth wireless headset. I brought it home and charged it however when i go to pair the headset to my phone, the phone will not recognize the device. Any suggestions? I have followed all the instructions in the manual. It is a new phone prob only 3 months old and works perfectly fine. (Yes, the bluetooth is turned "on" in my phone and the pairing mode is on in my headset.)

  For this type of situation you should try these steps, reboot the phone and wait about 15-20 seconds, then try to pair again, make sure both devices are right next to each other try putting the bluetooth headset on top of the mobile phone. (this is what I do and it recognizes it) and if this does not work your phone may have a software/hardware problem and will need to be taken care of by being taken to a LG location or sending it to At&t to send to LG.
