How To Reset 5233 Nokia?

Nokia 5233 problem. Please help!?

  • I bought a nokia 5233 phone last week and its been an awesome multimedia phone. But, sometimes when i get into the main menu, the same two icons (contacts and gallery) dont work but after opening another icon and closing, it seems to work. I was wondering if anyone else was facing this problem where icons in main menu dont open. Also when i tried to update the firmware OTA, in the software updater in applications, an exclamation mark is showing by the phone update and it wont update even after pressing 'update'. I also tried downloading through through pc using nokia software downloader but it doesnt 'identify the device'. Any one know whats wrong? Is there some kind of virus or software problem? Besides these problems, the phone seems to be very good but it would be nice if someone could clarify my doubts and tell me whats the problem. should i bring it to the nokia care center? All answers are appreciated

    Dial *#7370# and then dial 12345. It formats your phone. Hope it may recover. I'm using the same Nokia 5233 but i've not faced such a problem.Id formatting doesn't work then take it to your nearest nokia care centre. It will be definitely repaired or replaced

Try doing the full reset.i had somewhat same problem a month ago.if reset dont work take it to the nokia care they will update your os and will solve any other problem like virus free of cost. tip-always keep installed light and free antivirus like netqin coz your phone is on symbian platform and is very prone to viruses

well i dont know bout the icon thing coz nokia sometimes the menu may lag but it doesn just never open, so thats unusual, for the update , the update will start only when there is one available, i have a 6210 navigator and they didn release a second update since 2009, but what you can do is install nokia software updater on pc and select the option *reinstall* this option is not available on phone thats why youll need pc and if it doesn work then, contact service centre, and also do backup your data before reinstalling.. :)

I think you should go to nokia care centre.
