How to transfer contacts to smart phone?

How do I transfer my contacts from my old phone to my new phone???

• I had a Motorola i670 and recently got a Motorola i265. All of my contacts are on the old phone - how can I transfer these to the new phone? I I know I could possibly put the old SIM into the new phone - but how do I transfer the contacts once in the new i265 phone? I didn't see an option for this. My service is Nextel... thanks!

  You need to see if your contacts are on your old sim card. Take the old sim and put it in the new phone. If your contacts appear, find the copy option (probably under address book >> menu) and "Copy to phone." Reinsert new sim. If they are not there, take out your new sim and put it in the old phone. You should be able to find the same copy option and "Copy to sim." Put the new sim back in the new phone and they should be there. You can set your phone to Save to Sim by default under one of the address book or general settings for future phone upgrades so your contact list is permanently on your sim card, which is also good incase of cell phone failure.
