Does anyone know what stuff counts as the "other" category when syncing your iphone in itunes?

Like how you have music, photos, video, applications and other and it shows you how much memory is used in each category, what counts as Other. Its killing me to know cause I have close to a gig of stuff in there apparently that I'd like to free up but can't account for it.
